And to celebrate this new shape of deliciousness, Purefoods hosted the Square-Up Cook-Off last June 3, 2025<\/strong>, at Whitespace Makati \u2014 a flavor showdown featuring some of today\u2019s most exciting content creators and foodies. Taking the center stage were viral food creator Jujumao<\/strong>, stylish foodie duo Laureen Uy-Cruz <\/strong>and Miggy Cruz<\/strong> and \u201cOkay Na To\u201d queen Grace TanFelix.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The participants squared up in the kitchen with surprising, mouthwatering dishes using Purefoods Luncheon Meat\u2019s three variants:<\/p>\n

The cook-off featured three unique and intense rounds where participants battled it out in the kitchen, with lively commentary, big reveals, and delicious drama on every burner.<\/p>\n

Hearty meals that showed depth, plating, and creativity:<\/p>\n

\u25cf Jujumao<\/strong> kept it fresh and satisfying with a Pesto Pasta using Chicken<\/strong>\u2014a vibrant, herbaceous dish with hearty bites.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Laureen & Miggy Cruz<\/strong> dished out a cozy, indulgent Chicken Ramyun with Cheese<\/strong>, combining spice and creamy texture.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Grace Tanfelix<\/strong> presented a Japanese-inspired Classic Katsu Rice Bowl<\/strong>, a crunchy and comforting favorite.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Laureen & Miggy Cruz<\/strong> presented Lite Sushi Bites<\/strong>, a bite-sized, playful take on a classic.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Grace Tanfelix<\/strong> served Lite Fritters (breaded style)<\/strong>\u2014fun to eat and packed with umami.<\/p>\n

At the end of each round, participants had under a minute to present their dishes and share the inspiration behind them, before the judges tasted and gave their scores. The participants were judged by esteemed culinary experts Chef Gene Gonzalez<\/strong> and Chef Pam Obieta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adding extra spice to the competition, 20% of the final score came from the audience! Guests had the chance to taste the dishes and cast real-time votes via a QR-code powered app. Leaderboard rankings shifted live, building suspense and excitement throughout the event.<\/p>\n

The afternoon culminated in a flavorful finale\u2014the awarding of the very first Purefoods Luncheon Meat Square-Up Cook-Off Champion<\/strong>, crowned to Jujumao<\/strong> for his bold flavors and inventive use of Luncheon Meat in every dish. Special awards were also given to honor standout moments in the kitchen: Most Innovative Dish<\/strong> went to Jujumao\u2019s creative Chicken Sando, Best in Plating<\/strong> was awarded to stylish duo Laureen Uy-Cruz and Miggy Cruz<\/strong>, and the Crowd Favorite<\/strong> was proudly claimed by Grace Tanfelix<\/strong>, whose dishes won the hearts\u2014and tastebuds\u2014of the guests.<\/p>\n
